the world, just like yourself, has seen the video clips, over and over again
may I just show you a couple of stills,
before impact

this is split seconds before the ball hits your glove
how far are the tip of the gloves from your eyes, 18 inches?
could you not see,
that your gloves were over and in front of the stumps?
do you want us to believe that you have see-thru gloves and hands and could see the bails?
after impact

this is when the ball has hit your gloves.
you must have felt the instant of the impact
and heard the noise of the ball hitting another object
how far were your ears from the ball and gloves when it did, 24 inches?
do you want us to believe you are unable to distinguish
the sound of the ball hitting the wooden bails from the sound of the ball hitting the softer gloves?
how many times in your entire career have you heard the sound of the ball coming into your gloves
and how many times have you been behind the stumps when a ball has hit the wicket
just in case you were unaware mr haddin,
The Law 40
states:
The wicket-keeper shall remain wholly behind the wicket at the striker’s end from the moment the ball comes into play until
(a) a ball delivered by the bowler
either (i) touches the bat or person of the striker
or (ii) passes the wicket at the striker’s end
or (b) the striker attempts a run.In the event of the wicket-keeper contravening this Law, the umpire at the striker’s end shall call and signal No ball as soon as possible after the delivery of the ball.
a no ball,
which means, even if the ball hit the bails as you claim, the batsman was not out.
that is poor wicket keeping
go on, mr haddin, admit you cheated,
it is far less embarrassing from the shoddy glovework you have exhibited

The moral outrage at a pretty polite comment from Vettori (remember how he acted at the Oval in July) from both Haddin and his resting captain has been hilarious.
Thanks legbreak,
longtime no hear.
I think it has been made so vociferous to hide Haddin’s incompetence as a wicketkeeper. He is in the national team, yet does not know what/where his legitimate position is behind the stumps.
Been a wicketkeeper myself – he does not have any excuses. He knew exactly what he had done. That by my understanding is cheating.
And Bucknor was at the bowler’s end…another howler from him. Is there a behind-the-scenes torrid affair going on there?
Thanks megha,
in bucknor’s defence looking at the youtube clip – it would be difficult for him to pick it up. It would have been more a call for the leg-umpire.
Importantly – this was for Haddin to call back the batsman
