Paul Collingwood
The captain of the team and one of England’s most consistent ODI players over the past two years. Will score quickly and not concede too many runs. Amazing fielder, and is also the world’s leading wicket taker in T20 internationals.
Kevin Pietersen
One of the world’s best batsman for tests and ODIs, but unproven in T20. If he fires he will get a lot of runs in a short time, and will be very entertaining to watch.
Andrew Flintoff
England’s talismanic all-rounder is a key player in any form of the game. He offers fast bowling with control and variations, and he can hit the ball miles.
Luke Wright
Not well known until this season, but impressed for Sussex with some fast 50s and centuries. Has a lot of potential and will hit boundaries.
Darren Maddy
The man known as Mr Twenty20, he was instrumental in Leicestershire’s four consecutive finals day and two Twenty20 cups. Scores runs at a quick speed and is also a useful bowler.
Stuart Broad
Has a very good economy rate for T20, especially as he is a pace bowler. Gets bounce from his tall height and takes wickets. Is also a more than useful lower order batsman.
Jeremy Snape
A spin bowler who is very hard to score off, he bowls at low 40s to high 30s mph. Has a moon ball which is incredibly slow, making him hard to hit. Has a very good tactical cricket brain.
Matt Prior
Has shown that he is an aggressive batsman who is capable of hitting the boundaries. His keeping is improving, and will have to take the catches in this form of the game.
Ryan Sidebottom
Has been successful for Nottinghamshire in T20, and has quite a few variations, a useful thing for T20. Can also hit the ball down the order.
Dimitri Mascarenhas
Has the most amount of maidens in T20 cricket. He is hard to score off as a bowler, and has slower balls as part of his variations. He can score quickly as a batsman when under pressure, and has shown he can hit the boundaries.
Ravinder Bopara
A good batsman, a bowler with the knack of taking wickets and a good fielder. Bopara is a useful player and has lots of potential. He has impressed since beginning to play for England.
Vikram Solanki
Has been in and out of the England team throughout his career, but is a good batsman in T20 who can hit boundaries and score lots of runs. Is also a good fielder and an occasional bowler.
James Kirtley
Has got a bit of a reputation as a one day specialist for Sussex recently. He mixes it up a bit with his bowling and he takes wickets.
Owais Shah
A cheeky batsman with the ability to score quickly under pressure. Plays cheeky shots which can get boundaries and has a good T20 record.
Chris Schofield
Has made an amazing comeback. From working as a decorator after being dumped by Lancashire, this time last year he was playing in the minor counties league. Since then he has gained a professional contract with Surrey and was the leading wicket taker in this season’s T20 competition. Is also a handy batsman.
Overall, I think that with the experience that this squad has from the domestic Twenty20 competition, and some of the senior international players in the squad, England have a good chance to win the inaugural Twenty20 World Championship.

Thanks splatthat,
There are many names on this list I have not seen play before.
There is something nice about watching new players. Freshness to their enthusiasm.
