My review of the first two matches

First Match

England bat well for once, we wait for ages for a ODI century in our team, and two come along at once! Great for Bell and Cook to get their maiden ODI centuries, it should give them for confidence in this form of the game. A great bowling performance as well, especially from Anderson who got his 100th ODI wicket. India fielded, batted, and ran between the wickets poorly.

Second Match

India batted very well, Dravid’s innings was superb and Tendulkar shouldn’t have been out. England managed to take control of the powerplays for once when batting. The two Indian spinners bowled really well, they just kept making the run rate rise and rise. Mascheranas batted well towards the end of the innings, with 5 sixes, one of which being a huge one of Agarkar. It was a close match but once the spinners had bowled like that, England didn’t really have much of a chance.
