a time for a change…

in the Indian team leadership.

It is time we drew
a line under the Chappell era
and make a fresh start for the future.

A new coach is about to be appointed.
The time is right to bring back Saurav Ganguly as captain.

Rahul Dravid has had nearly two years
to prove himself as a good captain, but he has failed to do so.
Good leadership skills are born with, it cannot be learnt from textbooks.

He inherited captaincy
as a result of Chappell’s power stuggle with Ganguly.
In return, for too long
he submitted to Greg Chappell’s whims and fancy
and did nothing to stop the ‘divide and rule‘ policy.
In failing to do so, not only the team was damaged beyond belief
but created a deep division in the dressing room which will be difficult to repair.

And has been carrying on creating divisions.

Saurav Ganguly’s capabilities
as a good captain has never been questioned.
If lack of form was the reason of losing captaincy,
he has proved convincingly he is back in form in both formats of the game.

Every reason given by Greg Chappell to oust Ganguly
has been contradicted by his own self or has been proved wrong.

Those who still are in denial, please read.

Chappell, conflicting statements -I
Chappell, conflicting statements -II

BCCI needs to take a long hard look
at how the Indian team had got messed up in the past twenty two months.
It is time for them to come clean and acknowledge and rectify their mistakes.

Otherwise our team will be going nowhere.
