photomontage of fielders at silly point

was indian dressing-room micro-fixing…

…in the name of experimenting..

From: Jamaica Gleaner News

DARK SIDE OF THE COIN:
…tens of millions of dollars change hands on match days
in organised betting activities controlled by persons labeled as mafia.

In South Asia, for example,
ball-by-ball odds are available on the game.
With this pundits
are able to place bets on things like who will win the toss,
who will face the first ball,
who will bat at which number,

individual scores, overall scores and even extras.

They say that while the tendency to bribe people to fix an entire game
has disappeared because of close monitoring by the ICC,
‘bookies’ are now involved in what is now called micro-fixing.
People bet on even the most remote things
such as who will bowl the 15th over.

We have witnessed unexpected team selections.
We have been baffled by shuffling of our batting order.
We have been irritated by under utilisation of certain bowlers.
It was called “experimentations”.
And was set to continue into the World Cup.

We now hear of continuous leaks from dressing rooms through SMSs on mobile phones.

Is their anyone who is brave enough to see if there was a connection?
Did Bob Woolmer had to die because he had this vital evidence?

    Hi there Chinaman

We’ll never know, I suspect. And am as sure as I was when it happened that for some reason or another, we wont know till well after the World Cup.

The heart says tho, on this whole issue of micro fixing there is a lot of (pardon the choice of words) fart and not that much stink.

    Hi there

I cud have sworn I posted this earlier. but here goes again.

I dont think we’ll get to know anything abt the Woolmer story till well after the end of the World cup.

Re the micro fixing scenario, I actually think its – pardon the poor choice of words but it seems apt – its more fart than stink …

    I hope I’m right tho.

    Cheers
